Visa Screen Application Inquiry

Hi I would like to ask if there is still a need to submit "Validation of Registration" form of CGFNS to California Board of Nursing to only request a copy of results forwarded for Visa Screen to CGFNS. Or it is enough for a personal letter request and pay the fees.

As i don't have SSN yet so i don't have any license. If the form needed, what should i put in the license number and the status of license.

I think you should ask the California BON these questions. It is essential, I would think, that you obtain accurate information.

I tried contacting BON but the phone is always busy and get put on hold. I even emailed them several times but i didn't get any response. Maybe some nurses here might have ideas of what to do.

There is a handbook on the CGFNS website.

Generally speaking, all documents have to come from the official authority and go directly to the CGFNS.

If you are a foreign educated nurse, the idea is that your nursing school and licensing authority fills out forms and sends the information directly to the CGFNS - they evaluate your nursing education to find out if it is comparable to the US nursing education and if yes how it compares to the US nursing education (diploma, ADN, BSN, MSN). Please read the handbook carefully.

The BON has to confirm to CGFNS that you have passed NCLEX, results must come from them and not you

You must contact the BON. The line is always busy, but eventually, one day, you will get through. Licensing and verifications are too important an issue for you to get your answers on this site. You may make a mistake in your application that takes much longer to correct than waiting on line. No shortcuts! Have patience and put them on speaker while you wash the dishes. Also try pressing different options. That has worked for me. California BON is busy and appears to have only one person working.:( Once you get a live person on the phone, they are usually very nice and helpful.
