Virgin Islands Licensing

Published

Specializes in ICU 3+ years, travel nurse 1+ years.

I am thinking of doing a travel assignment hopefully next winter/spring to the Virgin Islands and I was wondering what the licensure process entails. I tried going onto their website but it's just a strange screen with no information. Has anybody worked for Worldwide Travel Staffing? I'm just trying to figure out which agency would be the best to go through. I would have them provide my housing as I don't want to deal with trying to find my own. Also, I was wondering if anybody had any recent experiences as a travel nurse in STT/STX. Thanks in advance! :nurse:

Specializes in ED, Med-Surg, Psych, Oncology, Hospice.

Trustaff seems to do most of the travel assignments there. They are definitely not recommended.

Specializes in dialysis, home care, ICU.

I've started the process with WorldWide...they will help with license, will email you the forms and review them before you send them in...I'm told it speeds up the process. On the down side they will "help" with housing referral, but prefer you find your own...which is expensive on island (St. Thomas more so than St. Croix). On the up side there are lots of travelers there and hooking up for shared housing could be an option!

Specializes in L&D, OR, travel.

I was in STT in Aug 2010. Great assignment, I had a blast! That was when Trustaff had all the contracts. That is no longer the case. I recommend PNS. They are a smaller agency out of Utah. Travel Nurse - Find a Travel Nursing Job The VI gov't, is a bit of a pain to work with. I think I got a form from my company. PNS will definitely help you. I posted back in 2010-11. You may be able to find them. Or I would be glad to answer any questions. I worked the OR. Please call PNS.
