Vidant October New Grad Residency

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for anyone who applied to the October RN New Grad Residency at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. I thought it might be nice to get to know people ahead of time and share questions/advice..

No, nothing yet here either!

Aye carumba!!!! My application still says "applied." I've lost count of how many residencies I've applied to, at least 8, and I've heard nada from everyone. Hurry up and wait.

Mine too! It's super frustrating. I'm thinking about calling them tomorrow.

So I talked to someone today and she told me they're still waiting to hear from administrators on which units are going to take people. So they haven't called anyone yet! She said they hope to have that info in the next few days and will start making calls soon! So fingers crossed we'll both hear something very soon!!

Oh good. I was starting to worry. Thanks Allison. I passed NCLEX today, so I'm good to go. Whoever calls first, gets me!

Awesome, congrats!! Yeah, I'm running out of time to be picky, first person who offers me a job I have to take it!

I e-mailed the recruiters today, and was told they haven't started scheduling interviews yet. There's still hope!

Have you heard anything from anyone yet?

Hey all! I found this page in a Google search. Great idea! I just wanted to let you guys know that the different units are conducting interviews at different times. Some haven't even scheduled them yet. I hope you've received calls for interviews, but if not don't be discouraged! Also, if you're as nervous as I was, let me tell you that all the staff I've met have been so warm and welcoming. Not scary at all! No job offers yet for me though. Still playing that nail - biting waiting game. Good luck to you all!!

Thanks for the info, reny. I'm giving up on Vidant. I'm focused on nailing my other interviews now. What slowpokes!

Hey LoRNinFL, I saw your thread and just wondered if you remember any of the questions they asked you. I am graduating in a couple of weeks and have a New Grad residency PICU interview this month and getting nervous. Is it a behavioral based interview, do I need to refresh on ventilation, shock terminology???Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Specializes in MICU, CVICU.

Hey msboss331. They didn't ask any behavioral questions. It was more personal like why did you choose nursing, why this unit, your weaknesses and strengths. Just have confidence and you'll be fine!
