Vice Chief of Staff and Secretary/Treasurer of a hospital

Published

Help! Our leadership class is requiring us to present on what the Vice Chief of Staff and Secretary/Treasurer of a hospital's roles are. While seemingly self explanatory, I'm unable to find any information on the internet which I can reference. Can anyone direct me to where I can obtain this info? Our textbook is not useful ifor this, as well. TIA

Never ever saw those titles used in a hospital. Is your teacher playing with you? Unable to document those used anywhere, I'd say they're either bogus titles or something used to bloat the bureaucracy. Sorry I can't give you better info.

Would the hospital's organizational chart help you? At least you'd know who he supervises.

Can't see how knowing such a thing would make better nurses.

Checking the organisational chart the answer your teacher wants maybe? Not sure how the whole class could present on the same subject, especially 2 such obscure titles.

The titles still seem strange to me. Which country are you in?

Yes, I'm sure the organizational chart will help me. I'm in California, we have to report on all the titles of the hospital- I have Chief of Staff, Vice Chief of Staff, and Secretary/Treasurer. I've found Chief of Staff but that's where my luck ran out. And believe me, my whole class is questioning how this assignment is going to benefit us as nurses.

Specializes in Hospice, LTC, Rehab, Home Health.

Just a guess, but Vice Chief of staff would probably be the person who fills in for and/or assists the Chief of staff with the duties of that position. Secretary/ Treasurer would be the person who keeps the minutes of the Board of Directors meetings and keeps track of the expenditures of the Board of Directors. Again, just a guess.

Yes, that's my guess, and considering there are no resources on the internet that it what I am going with for my presentation. Thank you all for your input.
