Neither shoe types truly protect the wearer from spills, needles, or wheels. I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot and the ONLY thing that does not bother it is, being barefoot or wearing my casual-dressy shoes that are flat, flexible, and form fitting.I also get backaches from wearing athletic shoes. Also high-heeled shoes do not bother my feet or my back, but I can't wear those to clinical or when I begin working.
So, does anyone have experience with Five Finger shoes or something similar that they wear to work?
Thanks
try some danskos or allegrias
supposed to be good for walking so i hear. i tried another nurses on , on one of the units and they are super comfy!
I bought the NB Minimus and wore those for several years, exclusively until the summer of 2014, when I tried on my first pair of Five Fingers and fell in love instantly. I mostly wear my VFFS ( I own 6 pair), but alternate with my NB Minimus every couple of days. I work 12 hour shifts and experience no knee, back, hip, or foot pain when I wear VFFs. I started placing tape over the tops of the shoe to protect my feet from spills or needles, which I've have yet to encounter.
