Hi again everyone. I am concerned about something I read on the VA hiring thread. It said that VETPRO sends out forms for your references to fill out via snail mail. They also asked for the references emails. I was assuming they would just email them and I asked the VA if it would be okay for me to just put their work addresses. They said that's enough. Soooo my problem is that I don't trust the hospital system that we work for to get the letters to them. I also don't trust my manager to give it to them. I would never have used the work address if I had any inkling they were using snail mail. What will happen if they don't get their letters from VETPRO? Will there be a follow up with me or an email to them?

If the VA doesn't receive the reference documents back, they will let you know that they haven't and that it's holding up your hiring process. I might contact the Vetpro people and tell them you've realized mail doesn't always get to these people at work and provide home addresses.

Merytrer, I worked with the person that was doing vetpro by staying on top of those that the letters were sent out to. I actually had to go to my current jobs HR and find out what the hold up was. My current job was the place that took 3 weeks to fax the information back. If they do not respond in a timely manager your vetpro rep. will reach out to them again. Just email your vetpro week once/week to see where you stand. The letter will not go to your manager it will go to HR and just verifies your employment dates that you put on your vetpro form. What va are you going to?
