  1. Yes but how long until you are vested. Also do you know anything about taking your insurance plan with you after a certain amount of years
  2. I understand your concern and feel you pain! They put more and more on nurses every day. I don’t think we are supposed to give patients results and interpret them. That should be done by a provider who is trained to know the causes and disease process. There are many questions we as nurses cannot answer. This is all outside of our scope of practice. We all have to stand our ground on this and not let it become a trend. I have found that many nurses are too big for their britches and enjoy acting like doctors. This harms us all
  3. Hi again everyone. I am concerned about something I read on the VA hiring thread. It said that VETPRO sends out forms for your references to fill out via snail mail. They also asked for the references emails. I was assuming they would just email them and I asked the VA if it would be okay for me to just put their work addresses. They said that's enough. Soooo my problem is that I don't trust the hospital system that we work for to get the letters to them. I also don't trust my manager to give it to them. I would never have used the work address if I had any inkling they were using snail mail. What will happen if they don't get their letters from VETPRO? Will there be a follow up with me or an email to them?
  4. Well I got the call and the job! Thanks so much everyone. It really is a hurry up and wait situation!
  5. Okay, I will look back. Thanks so much!
  6. Thanks guys! I appreciate the support. Does anyone think it is strange that they called three of my references but not the others?
  7. Hi everyone, I wanted to know if anyone has any input for me. Here is my story in a nut shell. I served in the USN for 8 years as a Hospital Corpsman. I got out with an honerable discharge. I went to nursing school and have been an RN in a private hospital for the last 12 years. I would like to get back to my vets so I have recently applied to the VA hospital. I applied back in June and was called in August for an interview. A week later I heard from the HR department (atleast I am assuming it was HR). They called me to ask for more references. It has been three weeks and I have not heard back from them yet. I did apply using my 5 points vet preference. I am starting to get nervous thinking I didn't get the job and I really want it. Does anyone have any input for me about this? Thanks so much!
