vermont application....are you experiencing this also?

Published

I was wondering if why it takes too long to have the eligibility now from vermont. Last year, I chose to apply in vermont and i checked their website and states that processing takes 3-4 months. But i've noticed that neither one of my batchmates had received their eligibilty yet including mine. Some of them are close to 6months already from the time their application was received. I don't know if the so much revisions they have late last year until this year had affected their processing. Anyone who applied in vermont...are you also experiencing this?

my co-vermont applicants..what do you think????

No. I submitted my application in person in Montpelier last Monday, got my 90-day permit that day, did the NURSYS application the next day, and got my license in the mail on Saturday.

actually thats what we are experiencing. my classmate and i passed the same day andall our forms were received on the same day. we had the same requirements and all but only one of us was eligible. we were thinking that there might be a glitch, especially that those who are not yet eligible require to send new form and verification.

I think the OP is an international graduate, which is why it's slower.

to fudgeremedy,

i am a vermont rn. i also had the same problem back in 2006. i can't recall the exact month i submitted my documents, i think around july or august 2006.

my friends and i filed our application at the same time. eventually, they got their eligibility while i kept on waiting for mine. i've waited patiently but months passed and i still did not receive my eligibility. i even e-mailed them but got no response. come january 2007, i gave them a call already. apparently, the reason for the delay is that i need to explain why i did not work as nurse from the time i obtained my local rn license up to the time i filed my vt application (i declared that i got no postgraduate nursing experience when i applied). so i made a letter (e-mail) and explained that after obtaining my local license, i prepared for cgfns and ielts that's why i was not able to work. after i e-mailed them everything went fast and smooth. i took my nclex march 31, 2007.

try to call the board and verify if you still need to complete some requirements. btw, in our group, i was the only one who was asked to provide an explanation why i did not work. my friends also had no work experience when they applied but got their eligibility in 2-3 mos.

i hope i was able to help. :p

thanks everyone.. I heard that some of my classmates already got their eligibility late last month (March). It actually took about 6 months from the date where their application was received in Vermont. Do you think processing now takes 6 months instead of 3-4 months before?

A lot will depend on receiving paperwork and also if the demand has gone up on applications then will take a bit longer to get processed
