Hi there, I'm new here and a brand new LPn/LVN. I completed school in Washington state and just moved to California. I'm having a tough time finding a job in Ventura county. Any advice or help? Thank you!

Hi, there. I was born and raised in Ventura County, although I have not lived there since 2003. Anyhow, the LVN employment market in all of southern California is dismal. You do not say how much experience you have, or what type of experience you have, but my suggestion is to apply to every SNF and home health company during business hours within a 50 mile radius.
Also, be willing to commute to the San Fernando Valley (Woodland Hills, Canoga Park, Sylmar, Mission Hills, Granada Hills, Van Nuys, Reseda, etc).

And at least make phone inquiries of home health employers with Los Angeles or Santa Clarita addresses, because often they will have available work in the San Fernando Valley. Home health agencies often service areas a good distance from their home office.
Thank you so much for the information. I am brand new licensed. I've started a list of SNFs to contact. I've worked 2+ as a CNA in subacute care but not yet as a LPN.

Hi there, I'm a new LVN and I'm going through the hiring process at a psych hospital in Ventura. I live in Santa Clarita. They said that the only reason they're seeking out new grads is because they're having a hard time keeping employees. I suggest you call around to all of the psych facilities. You might get lucky.
I messaged you about which facility you work at. I'm not sure if you got it or not. Are they still hiring and what is the name if you don't mind me asking? Sounds like a great opportunity for a new grad!!

There are only 2 psych hospital I know of in Ventura County ( Used to live there years ago). Vista del Mar and Hillmont. You can Google them.
Thank you so much! That helps a lot. I'll be calling tomorrow :)
