Vent - Uniforms!!

Published

Before I get off on my tangent here, let me say that I know that our uniforms could be worse. I've seen what some other folks have posted on here. Our uniforms consist of navy blue scrub pants with white polo shirts. I don't get the point of having the nursing students wear polo shirts! The "new" incoming students are purchasing scrub tops. They are not giving the students who are already in the program the opportunity to get these, we are being forced to stick with the polo shirts.

Besides being ugly and looking ridiculous, they are uncomfortable. They twist up when you are moving patients around and the collar bunches up. You end up looking very unprofessional and you walk around adjusting your shirt all the time. I just don't understand why they can't let ALL of the students have the option to purchase the new scrub tops.

I'm sorry about the rant. I've been off from classes all summer and haven't been on here much, but just got this news and needed to vent.

Thanks for listening!

At my school we have two different unisex uniforms; one for guys, one for girls and never the twain shall meet. They are Royal Blue and we look like a bunch of Smurfs with white shoes.

We also have a rule that says after you leave your clinical site you must go straight home as long as you are in uniform. No one is allowed to go anywhere else while wearing our uniforms with the school logo on them. We will be graduating in about a month. I swear, after the ceremony I am going to put on a pair of flourescent running shoes with my school uniform, head to the nearest Wal Mart, and hang out for about two hours.

LOL!! I love it. We had the same rule. :yeah:

Wow, our scrubs consist of pleated white pants, white cotton scrub top (that is still too big even at a small) and a blue vest. That's right, I said vest. If you added a hair net, I would look exactly like a lunch lady. I wished for regular scrubs but to no avail. *sigh*

Oh, you cracked me up! I'm literally laughing out loud about to wake my children while reading!!!:lol2:
