Vent/trach pay

U.S.A. California

I have a question if you are vent/trach certified is it true pay is $25/hr in home health(Private duty nursing)?

Specializes in Pediatric.

I don't think so... Are you referring to a specific company

No I know someone who did home health years ago and she said$25 was standard for vent and trach certified nurse due to the higher liability... I thought it was too good to be true

Pay is totally dependent upon the employer. And no, they don't pay more for vent skills or trach skills. At one time, maybe, but no longer. They have figured out that they can train the uninitiated and with the surplus of nurses without jobs, it is no longer necessary to pay a premium for those with experience and desirable skills.
