AAAAaaaaaaaRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAaaarrrrrrrghhhh!!!!!

(I think that about sums it up...)

Thankfully, I didn't have to do these in nursing school. They always turn out with some slacker in the group letting others do their work for them.

omg, I hate group projects unless I choose my group! lol for one of my classes each group had to do a presentation on a nurse theorist. first of all, everyone told me that they didn't know how to use power point :uhoh3: so I had to put it again, then I gave everyone a deadline and told them to email me with what they wanted on their slides. One person emailed me the morning it was due; everyone else emailed me their parts of the paper that they had to write and told me to summarize it myself :angryfire That made me soooooo mad because it's already creating extra work for me...and of course my group was just freakin' lazy...

i personally cannot stand group projects!!! I dont know if it is just me but it always seems that i always get one person who thinks they know everything and then another that doesnt want to do anything at all!But it is true, nurses need to learn how to deal with every kind of circumstance and all different types of personalities, unfortunately we have to just roll with the punches!

Did I mention I hate group projects?

My nursing instructors are very into group learning activities and group projects, which I am dreading. Yes, I know...they are supposed to teach us to function as a team member. If you are young and inexperienced, I suppose that's an important thing to learn.

In my previous professional life I was at management level. All I did was function as a team member with a multitude of coworkers on a multitude of projects. I know all about how to be an effective team member, thank you very much. Furthermore, a high percentage of my classmates are also midlife career changers who have the team member schtick down pat.

By the way, did I mention I hate group projects??

In addition to all this sing-kumbaya-and-hold-each-others-hand group learning hoo-hah, we're also strongly encouraged to form and utilize study groups. AS IF.....as if I have any extra time in my life to coordinate two or three or more people's schedules in order to spend time group studying, which is just code for schmutzing around and socializing, as opposed to actually productively studying. As if I wanted to spend any additional time with my classmates (they are all very wonderful people and I like them, but there are limits to the amount of time I want to spend with them!)

Did I happen to mention how very much I HATE GROUP PROJECTS / LEARNING????

Okay....rant over!

Group projects are the biggest, steaming heap of hippy BS ever conceived of. Period.

Specializes in None.

LOL, I hate/love group work. But I swear sometimes I have been in groups with people so bad, I considered bodily harm, and some people so lazy I wanted to scream at them words that would make a biker blush!!!! But you live, learn, and then get luvs!
