Nursing Students School Programs

HEY GUYS! IM STARTING VEEB IN September I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS.IS THE PROGRAM VERY INTENSE AND WHERE DO THEY DO CLINICALS?

Also what semester do we start clinicals?

You’re welcome no problem and like I said before make sure you study…study study..read ahead and do all of your HW and you will do just fine. Clinical rotation is supposed to start the second week I believe of first semester but due to covid and facilities not allowing us in, my class didn’t start until late second semester. Clinical rotation is every other week between section 1 and 2. Hopefully that isn’t the case for you when you start in September.

Hi everyone, I got accepted into Veeb and I have orientation on August 20th. Can anyone tell me if we will be receiving any books that day?

Umm probably not because the books were online being that we are virtual and if you want a physical copy you are going to have to pay for it. I’m not sure of the cost though don’t remember..also the laptop you might not receive the same day either. We didn’t get ours til like weeks later. Thank God I had already got my mac but heads up the laptops they gave are honestly trash and it’s better to just have your own

@BMP1117  Oh wow I had no idea we got a laptop but I have a MacBook as well. I prefer to have the physical books but I can only imagine the price. I’m sure they cost an arm and a leg. Do they allow you to record lectures?

Yea the laptop is included in the tuition unless they changed it..I think they school semester prior had got tablets. Yea I preferred to have physical too but once they had said the price for a physical and then how long it could take to get it I was like nah.  there are two physical books you do get though for the practical nursing class and for scientific foundations. You can’t screen record on zoom since you don’t have permission to record students and faculty but you can use your voice notes on the Mac. Be sure not to share the recordings on Youtube and social media.  If you’re in the building setting not sure how recording will go maybe a mini recorder.

Hi guys I got accepted into veeb and have orientation on aug 23 !! I’m so nervous but very excited !! I’m in section 2D . Is there any topics I can start studying ahead of time. I really want to do well in this program  ! Also I only bought the blue scrub uniforms I did not buy the white clinical uniforms yet because IDK when the clinicals will be and they are kind of pricey. ??

Umm first semester is vocational adjustments which is the math class..it’s dosage calculations..understanding measurements etc..pnp is the core class most topics from this class will be on the NCLEX and it’s about the nursing disorders, how you would treat and use of critical thinking when treating your patients. Lab class wasn’t really much to do since we weren’t in the building..scientific foundations is like basic science stuff so like the medical terminology, anatomical positions, cell, immunity, Microbiology, nutrition and Human development is mental Illnesses, mental health, theories on the stages of development, aging and geriatric nursing. Don’t worry about second and third semester stuff for now. STUDY STUDY STUDY. DO ALL OF YOUR HW and assignments because it’s 10% of your grade..it’s not optional and makes a difference in you either passing or failing. You get five quizzes for each class and it’s worth 60% of your grade so they are worth alot so do well on all of them. The midterm and final together is 30% so 15% each and like I said before hw is the final 10% of your overall grade. Clinical is usually the second week of class so I think you should get them and I’m if sure if you all will be virtual or in the facility but I guess you’ll find all that out at orientation. If you study and do all of your hw you will do just fine but you gotta put in the work. They say you can’t do this or that while in the program. I believe it’s about balance because you’ll go crazy and you’ll need a mental break sometimes from all the studying, exams and hw. So you can still do your normal things but just be mindful is all. If you have children solicit help from family members so you can study. I didn’t have that with my son but I’m still doing well. As long as your focused and determined you’ll be all good

@Lisha33 Hi Lisha how long it took for you to get your orientation date? I did my physical last week Wednesday

@KayMuckette I got my orientation date in the mail in late July. I did my physical last week Wednesday as well.

@Lisha33 Ohh I will have double check my mails.Thank you!

@KayMuckette It’s a little weird that you haven’t received that yet but got the letter for the physical. I would say if you haven’t received anything by the end of this week you should call them.
