VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

I sure hope something comes this week! The wait is just crazy! That 2k is burning my pocket! Lol

I know you guys are very anxious which is understandable. But one thing I'm almost sure about is Veeb hasn't changed much in 5 years (which is when I took this entrance exam). ONCE YOU PASS THE EXAM, YOU'RE IN! Yes you have to get your letters in and pay your money, but the longest/biggest hurdle is over! Passing the exam that is. I remember one of the instructors saying, "Do you know how many people we have to test to find 200?" For some reason, it's not easy. Now you have passed the exam, so just sit back and wait. They are busy testing other students and the women at the desk never really give out much info so why bother calling? Just count your lucky stars you passed that exam because MANY people wish they did. TRUST ME when I tell you this. All the best to you guys. My cousin got her passing results on Saturday and she just tested April 12th. I'm rooting for all of you.

Hi! I was reading this forum since u applied back in I believe 07! Lol... And I see year after year u encouraging and giving advice to the future applicants! And Thank You for still being here with us!

Not a problem! I'm always here to help. I didn't have much support from past graduates when I was at Veeb. For some reason, not many NYers use this site. I find it sad because this site is so informative. This is my FB!

I noticed this year there aren't that many applicants on the forum! I am very interested in the syna program. I know u have to give them 2 years after u graduate, which is great because you don't have to worry about finding a job! How was ur experience with the program?

Snya was one of the best things I ever did. I was soooo happy to be chosen or I would have paid Veeb out of pocket. I've never had a student loan. Snya put me in a 1199 facility n I used that to help finance my RN education. Snya staff were very nice. I still email Mrs LG from there now and again to thank her for the opportunity. Some of my friends are still paying LPN school loans and don't want another one for RN school. They didn't want to commit 2 years but time flies! I gave my place 2 years and 9 months and you need a solid place to get experience in the beginning.

I'm going to apply once I get officially accepted! Can't wait! I'm currently attending LIU prenursing program, I have all of my pre reqs, but don't want to wait 3 years till I graduate! The school is excellent but very expensive. I want to get my lpn and then hopefully work somewhere that will pay for me to get my RN.

Yes that school is so expensive. However, if you get into the RN program, you might as well AT&T there. VEEBs credits don't count And most place want a BSN now, which LIU has? What part of Brooklyn you live?

I live in Queens. I don't have 3 years to finish cause I go pt because I work. My plan is to leave my job once I get accepted to Veeb, and once I finish then go for my RN. My husband can get me thru VEEB, but LIU is too long till I graduate! And like I said I'm in the pre nursing program...there is testing and etc to get into the professional phase.

Ok. I got you. Yes 3 years is a long time!

Yea my plan also is to try to get into a nursing home and hopefully them pay for my rn schooling. I'm kind of interested to know what the syna program is.. Is that like a work study program?

From what I read, they will basically pay ur tuition, but after u graduate u have to give them 2 years. Its like a reg job with benefits and etc...and the best part u can work ft/pt/ or per diem. But u have to work with them for 2 years. Only thing I'm not to sure about is if u have to had worked in the health care field prior to attending VEEB. That I have to look into. I think their web is syna.org
