I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.
What are the Teachers like?
What are the required books?
Is the program as intense as they say?
Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?
Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?
Do they provide job Placement at the end???
Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!
One of the worst financial decisions you can make is buying all those books brand new right away. The school isn't strict to the point that they'll make sure you have a specific book. Only books you'll need to bring in are clinical calculations and the A&P review book. Trust me when I say you don't need the latest editions. It's all the same material, only difference would be page numbers. Shop around eBay, Half, Amazon.
Honestly most of my books sat around and collected dust. PM me if you need a specific book and maybe I can help you out.
The Quiz's are strictly off verbatim, a better investment would be a lightscribe pen.
Seriously don't be intimidated by the material, the school does everything in it's power to help students succeed. The pace may even seem slow at times.

Graduation is next week isn't it how exciting for you.....i know I will be looking forward to that time next year....congrats to you and the other students I am sure it wasn't ready but you did it and August 12 will mark the start of a new life:jester: enjoy
We had our last final today!!!! Whoo hoo...class of 2011 we made it! Thank You Jesus! lol Friday is graduation. It's crazy, I complained about spending all my free time studying but now since I have free time again I want to study!

Please listen to grindin. I currently own NO TEXTBOOKS OR WORKBOOKS and if not Valedictorian, I will @ least be graduating with honors!
The only book that is a MUST HAVE is the drug handbook for clinicals and even that you can barrow from your local library. Other than that, buy books as needed n USED or Older editions are a great option. Everyone learns differently because there were those who absoultely needed the books. See what works for you n don't be intimidated by those who carry around ALL their textbooks. Doesn't mean they have any lead over you lol
To grindin- thanks for the word of advice. Saved me a lot of headaches n financial trouble since I really didn't have $600 to begin with. Thanks a ton :)
Last bit of advice: There are only two days of school left and yes knuckle heads are getting kicked out. There is a time and a place for everything, HANDLE YOUR BUSINESS !!!!!!
My inbox is filled with questions about textbooks. As you can see we all have different opinions. So from experience, the only textbooks I bought was for pharmacology. Thats it!!!!!!!!!!! Grindin26 mentioned using a lightscribe pen which is a pen that has a recorder in it. If you record the lectures, IT WILL MAKE LIFE EASY!!!! BUT!!! Remember you signed a contract and agreed not to use one. So!!!!! Don't be a knuckle head. If your going to use it, do so discreatly. Thats my time ladies and gentleman. P.S.......Don't steal any toilet paper, it forces them to raise tution year after year.....
Congrats to you guys I know it feels good..thanks for the advice and the heads up....have fun tomorrow..in trying to get all my fun out of the way before school starts.
P.S. Cowbell is right, stay focused. Ladies treat every female as potential drama. Gentlemen don't get distracted. It will feel like high school at times but just remember why you're there.
I started posting on this thread to keep tract of the progress I made over this past year. Never imagined how quickly time would past. I can't believe that I not only graduated but also graduated as Valedictorian! This whole journey has been a true blessing, one I will never forget.
Congrats class of 2011, we did it! Yeaaa boy lol. Now on to bigger and better things...
To the class of 2012: stay focus, humble and dedicated and you will be successful. If I can do it....ANYONE can!! Good luck :)
