VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Will there be LPN jobs available or will they slowly phase out like the ASN degree? Also, what is meant by the bridge program? Is it the RN program (Helene Fuld) that VEEB graduates go if they've maintained an 85 avg?

I hope they dont phase out LPN's but in our economy you never know. Nursing is still one of those jobs that is in high demand.

The bridge program is put in place for those people who fell short it seems between .5-1.5 on either the reading section or the math section. Its a 2 week course and spots are held for the people who pass. It was $600 last year. However this program also puts people who did pass but tested on a later date on a waiting list.

Helen Fuld is one of the nursing programs that is articulated with Veebs it appears to be the quickest because you can become an RN in a year.

Hey GLady17 I feel like I know you after reading this thread over and over and over again:idea:. I noticed that the people who end up taking the test later ..(march time frame) they end up waiting the longest for an acceptance letter versus people who tested earlier (february time frame). its seems this was also because of the bridge program and waiting to find out who would pass the 2nd exam. This year however they said no bridge program they would keep testing until they had 200 students. So things may be different I just hope mine is in the mail. I was very happy to read that you received your acceptance letter. I cant imagine how excruciating that was..now onto another topic ...I would like to put my name in the bucket for those book. I will be back with questions :lol2:

Hi Sim1479 I dont know anything for sure I am just going by what the test proctor said on my test day which was that they were not doing a bridge program and that this was our only chance if we didnt make it ..try again next year. However on this site this same thing was said before and they ended up having a bridge program.

Hey from what I was told there are going to have the bridge program around June/July time.. I think to prepare for the ones who fell at least .5 to 1.0 behind points. But it is expensive, i think its $800- $1000.. The proctore did say that this is our only chance but if your only a couple of points behind don't see why not get another chance. Its more money for them.. I guess that's how business goes.. Money hungry business..

I just received the letter from VEEB that I passed.My scores were 11.4 on ENG, and 12.9 on math. Ireally do not know is it enogh for acceptance to the programm.

Hi Nicole , I passed the entarance exame with score 11.4 in ENG, and 12.9 in MATH.adidtionaly brought two letters of reference. However, I really not sure, if I have enough for entarence to the programm. May be you know something about that.

Honestly I'm in the same boat as you .... I'm just playing the waiting game .... I passed and mailed my refrences ..

I heard also that we suppose to get (if they accept us) at the end of the May.

I kind of do not know what to do. Seat and wait or may be try some other school, because those sores , they are really seems tooo low( i mean English) , it's a second leng. for me.
