Various Calculations of GPA. Which is it??

Hi All,

I feel like I'm grabbing at straws with this post but my curiosity has the best of me after spending a great deal of time on multiple CRNA program applications. I'm keeping in mind that some schools take cumulative, some the last 60 hours, etc., but I'm also seeing schools asking for grades in all applicable sciences and statistics. I'm wondering how heavily the science grade is considered.

I have another Bachelor's where I didn't really apply myself that's about a 3.0. Then my ASN & BSN is a 3.25 (life got the best of me with me ASN) but my science and Statistics grade is a 4.0. I'm really hoping the Sciences will help me out.

Anyone who's been accepted (or know of someone who's been accepted) with a similar situation?

Without listing all my stats, I'm a good student 2+ years ICU, minimum required GRE score but not an obvious shoo-in.

Edited to say: I decided to actually use a GPA calculator (instead of guessing) so my coursework going from ASN to BSN is a 3.7.

Most schools if not all will look at your cumulative and the main science courses.  If you struggled in freshman year gen ED requirements that isn't nearly as big a deal as getting Cs in A/P, pharm, biochem, etc.

Your grades won’t prevent you from being accepted. Science grades are weighed more heavily and overall you’re over 3.0. So that will serve you well.

Each school will calculate grades differently. If you retook a class, some replace the grades, some keep both grades, and others may average the grade (so if you got a C first, then made an A, they'll give you a B). Some focus on the last 60 hours or look at all of it from all degrees.
The safest bet is to ask each school you're applying to which GPAs they look at if it doesn't say on their application requirements.
