Vanderbilt's Nurse Residency Program

U.S.A. Tennessee

Does anyone have any advice on how to make a strong letter of intent for Vanderbilt's Nurse residency program? I know they accept a lot of applicants for each cohort but I'm not sure how many people actually apply and how competetive it actually is. If there is anyone on here that is currently in the program, was previously or knows anyone who has gone through the program, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I got my acceptance email too! I am so excited. I got into the Adult Track - so either medical or surgical!

Either is just fine by me! Congrats to all of you too!

I got into the peds track. I am very excited. So, if we don't pass the NCLEX the first time, are we out of the program? I feel the pressure now to pass!! ahh!

congrats to you guys who got in. If you don't pass your boards after 3 tries then they will make you a nurse extern or a care partner until you pass. You won't get kicked out the program for failing. I strongly suggest that you take your boards before you start the program. You will be so busy during the program that you won't have time to study for your boards.

I got accepted into the pediatric track too! Such a blessing from God. I'm so glad to hear that about our boards, I was nervous that the pressure would be on... glad to know its not pass or have no job. I'm sure we will all do fine. I wonder when we will find out if its peds acute care or critical care, during my interview I talked a lot about peds critical care and that I would love that... but I'm thankful to be in pediatrics as a new grad nurse at at all.

I guess I will be seeing you at , Miamigrad. We are both from Florida. I wonder if anyone else that got in is from FL. What school are you at?

congrats to everyone who is in. I am on peds waitlist. Does anyone have info on how many get on wait list, how many get in, if any?

Oh, did Tracy say that? Is that in writing somewhere? I was so worried. hehe

I would refrain from using anyone's real names on this site. But to answer your question this is what we were told during orientation.

You do have alot to think about but I have to tell yoo I made the move from PA for and I feel its the best decision I ever made. Don't look at the $ b/c its the expereince that really counts and I have learned soooo much here.

Thank you for the encouragement. The moving is going to be so expensive (from Florida), but so worth it.

Oh...and does anyone have suggestions about good apartments to move in to?
