Vanderbilt University MSN PreSpecialty 2024

Updated:   Published

Hi! I wanted to create a thread for those applying to Vanderbilt University MSN via PreSpecialty Entry! I heard we will hear back before the holiday's if you apply in time for priority review. What speciality did you apply to?

I'm denying my spot for PMHNP today so hopefully someone gets it!

Oh wow, hope that means that you are going to a program that works best for you!

Yes I've chosen another program! My choice was mainly about location and cost!

Thank you!! Yesterday around 6:30 EST!

I'm currently on the waitlist for CNM (I'm an RN, so not pre-specialty) really hoping a spot opens!! Anyone in the same boat? I didn't apply to any other schools this round, so IDK where things stand with other programs like Yale etc. Is there still a chance this late in the game that someone can choose a different program and a spot will open at Vandy? Or is it too late for that now? Also I know 2024-2025 tuition hasn't come out yet, do you think that increased tuition has enough weight to sway people or no? Any insight would be appreciated, thank you!

Did you ever find out if you were accepted into the PMHNP program?

I got in for duel FNP/CNM! I'll be rejecting my seat because I am attending another program but goodluck to everyone still waiting to hear!

Hi! I'm applying for this program for Fall 2025, and am wondering if you had any birth/doula experience prior to applying? I have a good deal of community service, but none specifically pertaining to reproductive health.

I am starting the CNM/FNP this fall. I did not have hands on experience but a ton of volunteer experience and two years of experience working in a nursing college sim lab. Good luck, and get application in early!
