FMLA abuse
Wow, yes you're the ***. You have no idea what her condition is or why she has FMLA, no matter if she's told you what it's for, you truly don't know. Some people lie to coworkers because they don't want them to know what's truly going on with them and that's their right. You are not her physician or part of the FMLA team. FMLA can also be taken for mental health reasons, or even care of a sick loved one, and other things. FMLA explicitly allows employees to travel, leave town, and engage in normal life activities as long as those life activities does not contradict the medical certification that lead to FMLA approval, which YOU are never entitled to know. Besides, if you report your suspicions, how does that help you? Do you get anything out of it? Does that give you a raise? A promotion? A bonus? If your suspicions are correct, then your company is going to say thanks for saving us money! And possibly terminate her. Then you're down a coworker, labeled a brown noser, and that's as far as any appreciation for you goes. If your suspicions are incorrect, then you're labeled a brown noser still, a busy body, and who wants to be friendly with someone like that? I'd honestly suggest you mind your own business. It does not affect you.

HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
Technically I'm an NP student with a negative SAI (wish I wasn't)…..-1500. Single mom and I live in a very costly living area, but notoriously low paying wages (Tennessee). I wish I would've just tried to apply for the NHCSP, but figured I'd have zero chance based on not having an academic reference. Kicking myself for it. I haven't been to school in years so I didn't have anyone I could reach out to request an academic reference. But if it's not meant for me this year, I'll just reapply again next year and hope for better luck.

HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
I haven't seen a single MSN or NP student get anything yet. I am also one. I also did not have an academic reference and under the regular nurse corps application when I submitted it. I didn't notice it had to be an academic one. I noticed it when I was about to apply for the other scholarship for providers. I had called in and asked if it actually had to be academic or would I be disqualified. The rep I talked to said it had to be an academic reference or I'd be disqualified. So I didn't put in my application. Now I'm wishing I would've just tried.

HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
Nothing my way. I did just see someone on FB say she got the finalist email this morning. I'm honestly not expecting to get it and trying not to dwell on it.

HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
That's what I've been wondering as well. So far I've only seen RN students. I'm also in NP school and praying to get this. Fingers crossed for us!

HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
Congratulations everyone who became finalists! Are any of you finalists going for your NP and received it? Or is everyone going for associates or bachelors? I am going for my NP but only applied for the nurse corps scholarship (not the HRSA), so wondering if I'm even likely to get a chance.

HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
Mine hasn't either but I don't think that means outright there isn't a chance. Keep hope!!
-
HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
Woohoo!! You're applying for the regular HRSA scholarship right? Not the repayment or NP scholarship? Was it a hard inquiry?
-
HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
So from what I've seen and it could be wrong, these are soft inquiries though, not hard inquiries. My credit card and credit karma only show hard inquiries.
-
HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
Right I definitely understand that, but still wanting to know how everyone is looking at soft inquiries. Like what app/website.
-
HRSA- Nurse Corps 2025
How exactly is everyone checking their credit to see if an inquiry was made?

Frontier Nursing University (FNU) vs Duke University - PMHNP
I don't have any information on Duke. I am set to start PMHNP at Frontier in July. It was important to me that I chose a school that had more positive reviews than bad, a school that had immersive learning vs. teach yourself, a school that actually cared about their investment in your learning and their reputation, and a school that did not accept everyone just because they applied. Duke may also provide all of this as well, but I do not have any information for them and did not want to apply due to their tuition rates. I was on the waitlist with Frontier for 5 months and honestly had accepted the fact that I was not going to be accepted when my letter came in. They have a strong reputation in the NP world and care about you and your education. The acceptance rates vary based on the specialty and how many applications they receive for each term, but I can say I have seen acceptance rates between 30-50% for past years. They do NOT accept everyone and I have seen so many be denied flat out or their waitlist expires and they must reapply. It is competitive.

I just checked mine for hard and soft inquiries. Nothing.

Unfortunately it's always been September 30th. I would personally rely on loans if I didn't have the funds. They will back pay you for Summer courses only if your school requires the Summer courses for your program if I read the information correctly.

Does anyone know if past years applicants also went under review this quickly? It's hard digging through all the comments to see exactly when people posted.
