Vanderbilt University - Master of Nursing (MN) Prespecialty 2025

Published

Starting a thread for Vanderbilt's Master of Nursing (MN) Prespecialty program for Fall 2025! I applied for MN Prespecialty - CNM track. Hoping we hear back in the next few days...

It's really unfortunate that you didn't do your homework on the front in, prior to applying, I.e. cost of program, when the deposit was due, visit the school, etc. Applying to nursing programs is so costly and time consuming, you really should do your research prior to applying. If you want to hold your spot, you definitely need to pay your deposit, but if you decide to go else where, it would be professional to notify the schools you decide to not attend, so they can offer your spot to an individual on the wait list.

Hi there, I appreciate your concern and I did plenty of research before applying. I don't live locally so I was planning to visit only if I was admitted. I was aware of the early deadline but did not expect myself to be in the very fortunate position of being admitted to multiple schools. Given the different financial aid packages I've received at Vanderbilt and other schools, that is affecting my choice now. I wish Vanderbilt gave more than a month for admitted students to decide, since they obviously know that other schools (like Yale and Penn) have later deadlines. I don't love the idea of taking someone else's spot by putting down a deposit if I'm not sure, so I probably won't do that but I have heard it's common practice.

I was accepted to the MN prespecialty FNP program. I would love to connect with everyone before starting in the fall!

Hi! I was accepted as well, I would also love to connect with everyone before we start!

Hey guys, I recently submitted an application for the next round of reviews and they said that I should be hearing back by the end of January. Would anybody be able to share their stats that got in so far? Just wanna gauge my chances RN.

Hello, I tried to send this message before but it was flagged for some reason so sorry if there is a duplicate. I committed to the MN program at Vanderbilt today, congratulations to everyone who was accepted! I would love to connect, if you guys are interested in some sort of group chat for those who plan to attend in the fall, let me know and I would be happy to create one.

Congratulations and wishing you success in your program!  Re: creating a group chat, please note the following:

1. You may only post Facebook links for your cohort on the public boards.

2. To create a special place for your cohort at allnurses for other social/mobile application links:

1.   Members with at least 15 posts can create a student "Club" for your cohort by clicking on the "Breakroom/Clubs" link under "Communities" at the top of any page in the upper left on desktop or "Breakroom" under "Special Sections" in the upper right on mobile.

2.   Click "Start a Breakroom Club".

3.   Invite members at your discretion.

You may post social or mobile application links once in a private club. Keep in mind, clubs will not be moderated, unless a member reports an issue.

Thank you for being part of the allnurses community.

hi everyone! I just got into the MN program for this second round of decisions. I'm from CA, so the biggest factor for me is definitely cost. I was wondering if anyone ended up making that group for admitted students! would love to get more insight and meet all of you 🙂

Hi guys! Does anyone know if CRNA schools would accept the MN as like a BSN equivalent?
