Hi All,
There doesn't seem to be a thread yet for pre-specialty Vandy applicants (the thread going now seems to consist mostly of grad entry), so I thought I'd start one! Any other pre-specialty folks out there? I am from Seattle and applied for the PMHNP track.
Looking forward to seeing who turns up!
Sarah

If you're a local student, you are assigned preceptors/clinicals. If you are a distance student, you find your own, but they provide a list of approved preceptors as well.
They told me at the info session that they have never had a student not graduate because of not being able to find a preceptor.
Yes. Am seriously considering dropping the program. As stupid as this sounds, I am already an RN and I can get in and out of a degree a lot cheaper than this! I thought that it was 47k for the whole thing, not 47k for 3 of 5 semesters. It really just strikes me as an overly hefty price tag for what an NP salary is.
I was recently accepted to FNP. Once of my mentors advised me to start reading my books for 1st semester this summer, it will be that much reading. does anyone have any clue about our books for the fall. Any students that have already done the first semester of pre-specialty year that could give me an idea about textbooks? I would appreciate it!
Hi Everyone, I am an applicant to PMHNP program. I was just notified that my application has to be reviewed by the Student Admissions & Academic Affairs Committee. Maybe my gre was too low, etc. Did anyone else have their application reviewed by this committee? Do I still have a chance of being admitted if they review it? Thank you. :)
Yes, there is a lot of reading, but DO NOT DO IT OVER THE SUMMER!!! Enjoy your summer as best you can because you will have a lot of work ahead of you when you do get here. That being said, you will also have time to get a jump on things when you get here. Best advice... BREATHE and RELAX!
lund44- Thanks for your reply! I'm sorry to hear you didn't get in. Keep trying and never give up on your dreams! Best of luck on your next round of applications...at least you know what part of your application you need to brush up on now!
PRE-SPECIALTY WAISTLISTERS- Has anyone heard anything? I applied for Adult-Gerontology Primary Care and got waitlisted. Does anyone have any details about the waitlist?

It depends what specialty. For example I'm PMHNP and our clinicals are assigned.
