Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty (for non-RNs) MSN 2013

Hi All,

There doesn't seem to be a thread yet for pre-specialty Vandy applicants (the thread going now seems to consist mostly of grad entry), so I thought I'd start one! Any other pre-specialty folks out there? I am from Seattle and applied for the PMHNP track.

Looking forward to seeing who turns up!

So the student admissions committee meets today? Does that mean we can call and find out today??

Hey guys, I'm looking for any information that you might have about the HPSP with the Air Force. I'm getting conflicting information about the scholarship from different sources that I would like to get cleared up. Thanks.

Hi Joshuajonmical, I've heard in the past that there wasn't much turnover on the waitlist. However, I can tell you that on the FB page for the accepted pre-specialty students there are several PMHNP pre-speciality students who are still making decisions between Vandy and other schools. Perhaps you'll see some movement on the list. Good luck!

Thanks! I had emailed them to confirm that they received my wait list confirmation so they responded by email, but said they were sending my acceptance letter out so I think in most cases it would be by US mail.

Was also accepted off the waitlist for midwifery via phone call around 2:30pm PST. Unfortunately will be declining this acceptance.

Haven't seen much on here about ACNP pre-specialty. I am currently waitlisted. Anyone know about movement on the waitlist for Acute Care?

Is it true that students are responsible for finding their own preceptors and clinical placements? I'm trying to decide between Vandy and MGH.
