Hi all!
I just wanted to get a thread started for those who plan on applying to Vanderbilt's prespecialty (for non-nurses) MSN program. I only recently discovered this program about 2 months ago and am absolutely enamored with it! I plan to apply to 8 schools for this cycle, but Vanderbilt is at the very top of my list. I am looking into FNP, which has the distance option. I am not sure whether or not I would prefer to stay at Vanderbilt for the whole program, but I do like that there is the option.
Aside from finishing up micro this summer and taking the GRE in a month, I am fully ready to apply. Just need the application for 2011 to open up!
Anyone else?
Yes I just got an email requesting a telephone interview as well - I applied for the Family NP program. I felt I was pretty comprehensive in my written interview response, so I'm not sure what else they would need to ask. I called the school to get more info on this and how best to prepare but just received an email response indicating "there is no advanced preparation for this interview." Thoughts, anyone?
It was a phone interview invite for next Wednesday. I'm just hoping that its a good thing...I also felt I was pretty clear in my interview survey, and I just re-read my responses. My bf said an interview can never be a bad thing though, if they were writing us off, I don't think they would want to talk to us :)
Pdubya,
I applied to the dual WHNP/ANP program (RN pre-specialty), and I haven't heard anything or gotten any emails. So maybe this whole interview thing is only for psych, FNP, and midwifery? To all who have an interview (and yes, I agree that it's a GOOD sign!), best of luck!! Let us know how it goes!!!

Hey I just got an e-mail asking me to interview for the midwifery specialty, did anyone else get this? I didn't know they did interviews for any other specialty but Mental Health.
