Vanderbilt Nursing Prespecialty/Nurse Midwifery

Published

Hi!

I was just accepted into Vanderbilt's accelerated/prespecialty nursing program and nurse midwifery masters.

I was wondering if anyone out there has been through Vanderbilt's prespecialty program or their nurse midwifery program. I am having the hardest time finding information on the prespecialty program, and I would love to hear from someone who has been through it first hand.

I know that the masters program is basically a distance program....but what about the prespecialty? Is that all online? Do you get a quality education? Is it worth the money? I am a recent college graduate and don't have a family or career, so I am more than capable of doing an in-person program, and that's kind of what I prefer.

Anyway, I hope to hear back from someone. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

I haven't but am interested in the CNM program..From my understanding the RN portion is not online because you have to be able to do clinicals. And the CNM program is not online either although from what I've heard, the last semester, you may have to travel out of the area.

I could be wrong, but that's my understanding from my research. Good luck! I plan to apply for the BSN to CNM in the Fall of 2015 for 2016.
