Hello! I have seen these in the past and figured this could be a place to talk about applying and the process of this program!

Congrats all! I was invited for Cardiology dept interview. Although it will be super expensive - I hope to be able to travel to Nashville for the interview. Skype is an option but I think it is a disadvantage - especially since I won't be able to see the unit.

I'll be interviewing for a SICU position. What are interviews like? Any advice? For those in ICU positions at Vandy, how do you like it?

Hey there! Congrats on getting an interview! The only advice I can really give is to study up on the behavioral interview style. Vandy uses this (as do most hospitals at this point,) and I think it takes some practice. Print off a list of common questions and familiarize yourself with the format. This interview style really isn't something you can tackle off the cuff; you have to have spent some quality time reflecting on the types of experiences you've had in school or clinical based work. I had a really positive experience. The interview went by SO quickly and wasn't as scary as I thought it would be :) Definitely look over the PowerPoint they sent you.

They're still doing interviews? When I was invited for an interview they said they were only doing interviews on Oct 10 & 24 for the units.

What unit did you interview for? And yeah my interview dates were either Oct 31st or Nov 4th. Maybe it's just different for different units!

I bet you're right about the dates. I interviewed for SICU.
