Extraordinarily happy to see this thread. I am applying for their Critical Care track and I couldn't be more excited. I have heard nothing but positive reviews about this residency program. Good luck for those of you that are reading and applying as well.

I am! Born and raised in the Detroit area and I'll graduate from SVSU in December. Tennessee is calling my name and Vanderbilt is the dream, but I can vouch for any hospital if you need some extra motivation.

Hey everyone, I am a little late to be applying but I was wondering how the references work on the application? Do they expect letters or contact info? I haven't completed the app yet and it won't let me move ahead. Thanks so much!

Kate93, On the initial application, it looks like they want contact information. If I understand correctly you will give them email addresses so they can request references later on in application process. Here is a link and I've quoted below. Nurse Residency Program (New Grads) - Nurse Residency Application FAQs

"Q: Will there be any application packet paperwork to return?A: All components are now completed electronically, and there is no paperwork to return. This will also include a 2^ndonline component where you will provide contact information for the following: for your clinical faculty recommendation; for the Dean's office recommendation; and for Extern/Intern Program recommendation. Also, if you are a current Vanderbilt employee, you will need to provide contact information for your Manager. There will also be space provided to upload your official transcript."

I'm originally from the Nashville area and moved away for an Accelerated BSN program. I'm applying for NICU, Newborn Nursery. Good luck! Hope to be starting the program with some of you.
