I just mailed off my packet to Vanderbilt today! I'm so nervous and really hoping to get an interview for this program. Adult Critical Care is my first choice. I graduated in May 2012 with my BSN from Washington State University. I thought it would be fun to start a thread for people applying for the Winter 2013 program.
Hoping to meet other people who are applying to this program.
I'm hoping for SICU, MICU, or TICU. Did you get the email about the new Track they opened up for the Emergency Department? I'm hoping this will give the people who applied for the Critical Care Track some more wiggle room.
I hope we all get good news from Vandy in two weeks. The wait has been agonizing!
Iridium54,What track are you applying to?
I'm actually pretty sad about this but I did not get the app in by the deadline. I got sidetracked with some things in my life and did not ask for recommenders to fill out the form until a bit late. Unfortunately my second one (which I deemed most important as it was my clinical instructor from my preferred track) did not get back to me in time.
I messed up! I'm telling myself it was not meant to be.
But, to answer your question, LJRN, my track was women's health. It's my passion (I think lol).
Hi all!
I graduated from Trinity Christian College in Chicagoland and was finally able to take my NCLEX 2 weeks ago and PASSED :)
I applied for the Pediatrics track at Vanderbilt. Peds is so where my heart is...and this sounds like the perfect opportunity. I have 5 years experience as a Nursing Assistant, had an externship at Mayo Clinic Arizona on a Hem/Onc/BMT floor, but don't have any acute care peds experience besides my clinical rotation last fall.
I am anxious to hear some (hopefully) good news within the next few days! Has anyone heard anything?
