Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program Summer 2017

I know I am WAY ahead on this, but I just wanted to see who all was applying for VUMC nurse residency program in the summer 2017? The application opens up on December 9th and I want to apply for the Adult Critical Care Track! If anyone has any tips on the application, please feel free to comment! :) I know it's a long time coming, but I just want to see who out there will be applying!

Does anyone know when Tracey is making the Facebook group? My cohort starts June 12th and I need to find a roommate and housing!

I am moving from Texas! No idea how many they accepted for the ED. Coralblue are you in the ED too? That would make 3 of us at least. But my start date isn't until June 12th since I graduate in May.

And last question, I swear, but are you from out of state? I am trying to figure out the transfer of license since I am from Jersey.

I got the offer last Saturday and I didn't send the signed letter yet. That's probably why I didn't get the Facebook group yet.

I just got added to the facebook group and there are tons of people on it looking for roommates so I have started reaching out to a couple, but no luck yet! Once you get added to it, maybe we can get in more contact and figure something out? I have no idea when I will take the NCLEX yet because we aren't allowed to sign up until a few weeks after we graduate, but I think I will probably end up taking it mid-June even though I would way prefer to take it before starting work. And Texas is a compact state so my license will work in Tennessee... I am not sure if Jersey is though...

I don't see why they wouldn't! As long as you meet the requirements for the program and are eligible to work in the United States. If it's something you're interested in, it wouldn't hurt to apply.

Does anyone know if we dont pass nclex if we lose our job?

I think I remember seeing that if we fail the first time, we can continue in the residency program but have to pass the second time or we are out! I think they may offer you a CNA/PCT job if that happens but I am not positive on that. If you haven't taken it yet, good luck! :)

I just came across this thread. I am graduating in Dec. 2017 and have applied to the Vanderbilt NR program and have an interview Aug 31. Any advice or tips you can offer? Those of you that accepted and are not working at Vanderbilt, how has it been? Do you recommend the program? Are you able to afford living in Nashville on the salary?
