Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program Summer 2017

Published

I know I am WAY ahead on this, but I just wanted to see who all was applying for VUMC nurse residency program in the summer 2017? The application opens up on December 9th and I want to apply for the Adult Critical Care Track! If anyone has any tips on the application, please feel free to comment! :) I know it's a long time coming, but I just want to see who out there will be applying!

I did!

Did you get an interview? If so have you had it yet??

Specializes in CRNA.

Sorry to ask this yet again, but has anyone who interviewed for Adult Cardiac hear back yet?

Anyone interview / hear back from behavioral health?

Hi everyone I've accepted a full time position on the Neuro ICU Unit. Anyone else on this unit?! Also for those of you that have been accepted are you starting to apply for licensure? I'm out of state so any advice on TN Licensure would be great!

Congrats! I accepted a position in the Surgical ICU so we will both be starting on the same date!

Hi guys/girls! Just sent in my application today (Saturday). Anyone know what this program consists of? Is it like a precepted opportunity to see if you like the unit because I know other hospitals do that. You do Simulations and see what the unit is like and if you like it, if that makes sense :) just waiting on my packet hopefully! Nice to meet you all :)

I had my interview with Adult Acute Surgery Thursday but I don't know how it went. My interview didn't last but like 25-30 minutes.. is that too short?? did anybody get asked questions about themselves? they didn't ask me much about myself. Also how long did it take to hear something back?

Just accepted a position for the acute care surgery tract. I'm coming from out of state so I'm starting to look at apartments now. I know they're setting up a Facebook page, but if anyone's looking for a roommate let me know!

Congrats! I'm just concerned about the pay. Is t worth while?

Ya the pay is definitely a downside of it, but for me I really wanted to live somewhere new and I think the program looks great so I think it's worth it.

Is it because it's what Nashville nurses get paid or is it because we're new? Maybe it'll increase soon?

I'm so sad to say that I've turned down my offer from Vandy. This decision was extremely hard, but I decided to accept my second choice (Emory) for their nurse residency program as it will help further my career goals. It was so nice getting to know you all and I wish you all the best of luck in your nursing journey!!!
