I just attended Vanderbilt's fall open house for the 2020 year and I'm really excited to be applying! I'm hoping to connect with other Vandey applicants so we can offer support and info along this process. I am applying to the post BSN dual CNM/ FNP program.

(this is my first time using this forum so let me know if this is not how I am supposed to reply. I could not find a reply button)
Thank you for the encouragement! When you were waitlisted did you call them to ask any questions? Do you know if they are able to tell you where you are on the waitlist or give you feedback as to why you were waitlisted? I am also wondering if I tell them I am open to doing my practicum outside of Middle Tennessee if that will change anything...

I did not call them when I was waitlisted; I knew I was going to be waitlisted from my interview and PreSpecialty PMHNP has to be MTA (Middle Tennessee area) for Specialty year so we do not have the option of being OMTA (outside of Middle Tennessee). One of my classmates did tell me that her willingness to go OMTA for specialty year seemed to make the difference in her acceptance off the waitlist in FNP but that was her experience i.e. anecdotal--I do not know first hand. I never called during the decisions process--was never that brave.

Okay. Thank you so much for the information!
I didn’t get in, but I was applying straight out of school. Going to be calling on Monday to see how I can better my application. It’s disappointing but not disheartening. I know this is what I want to do, and I know with some experience, they’ll see how determined I am to make a difference in this field. Congrats to everyone! It was definitely an enjoyable wait with you all!

Well someone already posted that they weren't accepted and someone else said they were waitlisted, so they aren't being updated by admit/not admit.
I was waitlisted but I just got the notification.
