I may be applying for the ENP program for the next year. Wife and I haven't figured out how to PAY for it! Over $1000/credit! I didn't want that kind of debt at my age; but it is the program that most interests me.

Congratulations! Good luck!

I'm currently on the wait list for the fall 2010 ACNP track! Vandy is my first choice, so I'm dying to hear if I'll get a space. Hey, out of curiosity, what is the reply deadline for accepted students? Thanks!

@ medic-don't hold back from applying bc of cost-- they offer VERY generous grants, loans, and there are various scholarships thru Vandy and your state!

I will be at Vandy for ACNP in the fall. We are relocating. Taking a trip down to Nashville in two weeks to look at apartments and tour the campus. I am so excited. Who is local and who is distance?

Medic-go for it! the pp is right about grants and scholarships. Vandy has a lot of wealthy alumni :D

Meredith- I can't remember the exact date. I want to say it was early April. I sent my acceptance in quickly! Good luck with the waitlist.

Iv,

Thanks so much for the reply! I ask because, of course, they can't start making offers to us until all who have been offered admission right off the bat reply. I hope I get to join you all in August! :D

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to shovel more $$$ to our two kids in grad school who deserve the help. Going to a school that costs more than twice the others is hard to justify with that perspective. I wasn't aware that Vanderbilt offers much special in the way of scholarships or grants. I'll have to look into it.

Meredith- Have you tried calling the school to ask when they make waitlist decisions? Just curious.

Celclt- are you going to be in Nashville or are you a distance learner? And have you ordered the two books they reccomended in the admission letter? I ordered them the other day. I am really excited.

Iv,

I've been in touch with Logan in admissions and he said to check back at the end of April, so I'm just trying to avoid making a pest of myself until then. I suspect if the early April reply deadline was accurate that we should be hearing something pretty soon...I'm praying for good news before the summer semester starts so that I can focus on making some money for the moving/ living expenses associated with moving back to TN instead of taking more classes. I plan to email them sometime during the last week of April.

Hi all,

I am an ANP student at Vandy. I came in as a prespecialty student and am in my specialty year now. I am doing my specialty from a distance, which is really convenient because I am able to do clinicals in the area that I plan to work.

If it helps, I was also on the wait-list and got my acceptance call the first week of June.

I am familiar with the area and would suggest looking for listings on craigslist. It usually has good condos listed that are privately owned. Green hills is very nice but pricey, bellvue is a short commute (10-30 minutes with traffic to campus) but prices are lower, and sylvan park is a nice area to find a cute rental home that is close to the city.

Go to Vandy! The name provides great leverage on your resume and your experience will help as well. I have not graduated yet and about half of my class as well as myself have already recieved job offers.

Message me if you have any questions!

Woot! Gives me hope. I know they rank based on GPA and GRE scores, do you mind sharing with me what your stats were (if you remember?) You can PM me if you like. Thanks for the response! :)

I am a bit of a latecomer to the application process at Vandy. I have just submitted my application and am not taking the GRE until June 1st. I would be attending the ACNP program on a part time distance learning basis. I'm desperately hoping to make it in this fall but dreading the GRE. Anyone think it would be feasible that I might make it in? Do you know if part time students can take courses in the spring? I live in the area so Vanderbilt is a great option for me. I did not realize they had and ADN-MSN option. Thanks for any input. I know I will be anxiously waiting until I know. Hopefully, since I'm applying late I won't have to wait very long to know if I am accepted. Is anyone else going part time ACNP?
