Published

Hello everyone! I can’t seem to find a thread for FALL 2019 for Valencia college. So I decided to make one and see when others have put their applications in and all that good stuff.

Next set of emails go out tomorrow guys!!!!! I wish everyone the best and I really hope all of us who are waiting get in. Keep praying!

Does anyone know if after this week more emails will go out?

How do you know emails are being sent out today? Just curious lol ?

Yea I am wondering how people know when emails are coming out. They aren't very forthcoming with info. I haven't received any email today either.

I was waitlisted and just got my acceptance for CONCURRENT today!!!

Were you waitlisted for the traditional nursing program?

No, I applied for concurrent only.

Ok I was confused. How many semesters did you have to wait before you got the acceptance today?

Well, this is the first semester that I applied, I've been working towards the program since 2012 and had everything ready except for 1 class at the fall of 2015 when I thought I'd apply but life got in the way. So the answer is this the first time that I applied. 3.3 overall GPA, 3.4 prereq science GPA, 86.7 TEAS.

Congrats! If you don’t mind sharing your GPA and Teas score, I’m also interested in the concurrent program but afraid I dont meet the requirements.

That awesome, congrats on getting in and not having to wait! I'm still waiting to hear about the traditional nursing program. Really didn't think I would have to wait this long. I'm pretty much planning to be waitlisted.

I appreciate the compliment but to be honest I wasn't really trying and that 86.7 was my minimal effort. That was my first attempt with about 3 whole days of serious studying and a week of not so serious studying. I did poorly on the grammar portion and AP. I know without a doubt had I actually bothered to study grammar I would've gotten a 91 easily. With another 2 weeks of studying AP I probably could've gotten a 94 or 95.

It's honestly not that hard. I aced math and did well on chem portions and reading and did bad on AP and grammar and still got an 86.7. What I mean to say is that it's not as hard as people make it out to be, the hardest part is AP and science. The rest of the stuff is 10th grade level. And I should state that I took AP back in 2014.

So don't let it stress you out, it's not that bad (except the AP portion). If you can pass 10th grade you can ace every portion except AP/Science. I was lazy and made excuses for myself and put off the TEAS for nearly 2 years because people's horror stories on here so I kept telling myself I wasn't ready and didn't have the time to devout myself to studying. When with minimal effort I managed a 86.7 while hardly retaining much AP knowledge from 5 years ago.
