Valencia College Summer 2020

Published

Hi everyone!

I wanted to start a thread for anyone who’s applying for the traditional nursing program at Valencia for the summer :)! That way we can give one another updates, or anyone with helpful tips who ALREADY got admitted for spring!

Thanks!

Yup! daytime west

Nice! Congrats!

I should've applied for Daytime west but it doesn't matter at this point we're IN. And the evening ended up being the one to work for me.

Until now I didn't get any letters for my daytime app. I've applied for both West and Osceola.

I haven’t gotten anything either and I applied on December 15th. Automatically assuming I’m waitlisted like everyone who also applied later than August, but I JUST WANNA KNOW! Hahah We’re gonna have to make a facebook group for anxiety support.

Specializes in Multisystem ICU, CCRN.

I've been following this thread for a couple months. Congratulations who everyone who got in! I will see all of you guys at orientation! I'm a current student who's in Nursing 3 about to go to Nursing 4 and an Officer in the Valencia Nursing Student Association volunteers at the new student orientations! If you got waitlisted, you still have a possibility of getting into the program! I got waitlisted, and two days later they called me saying they had a spot! (back in march) I started over the Summer! Everything was so last minute! To get prepared for orientation, bring at least $300.00 cash or check. There will be a lot of purchases being made! In between scrub tops and bottoms, and community tops and bottoms. Your lab kit, stethoscope, BP cuff, watch, penlight, shears, socks, shoes and more! You'll need your lab kit and community uniform for the first week of school. Practice dosage starting now, because they expect you to know it when you get in. Practice your dosage bootcamp, and learn your abbreviations and conversions once they open up your CRN. You'll possibly need a rolling bookbag. Working full time will be hard. You'll possibly have to drop down to 1-2 days a week. In between now and orientation date (March 27th) try and get your immunizations paperwork. You'll also have to pay $188 for Castlebranch, a third party company that keeps track of your immunizations, drug tests, Fit mask testing, and background check. If you haven't gotten an email yet, they will be sending out emails up until the day of orientation. When you get to orientation ask for me! Jenna! If you need anymore questions or help go ahead and message me! Good luck everyone! I hope this helped.

P.S. Here's the link for compliance paperwork and documents. Congratulations to you all!

That was super informative! I didn't get any emails yet for my daytime application! I'm just hoping I'll be able to start my program in the Summer!! Good luck to all of us ❤️

PS: I felt so relieved when you said you got a call 2 days after from VC with a spot in the program! Maybe that will happen to some of us too ?

Hello everyone, I applied for Spring back in August and got waitlisted and I got accepted for Summer but I’m unable attend Summer. I really don’t want to have to reapply and wait so long again but they are saying I can’t be deferred unless there is a serious illness or pregnancy involved. Does anyone know what happens when people don’t accept in time? Does they application stay standing but roll over? I don’t want to decline if there’s a possibility of being considered for fall.

Oh no ? Better go see a nursing program advisor. You might have to reapply... Nursing school goes year round at Valencia. So applying to start a certain semester does not work due to the 1-2 semester wait. You get in by order of your application date.
