Valencia Advanced Track Nursing Program Fall 2015

Published

I was looking around for threads about the Advanced Fast Track Nursing program LPN to RN for Fall 2015. I was looking for other people who have applied for this program but could not find any information.

On the application, it states that the applicant will receive an Atlas Email from Week 5 to Week 7 AFTER the application deadline which on May 15th.

I haven't heard back from them yet. I was wondering if anyone else has received any letters from them yet.

Do you know how many people applied vs how many were accepted? My biggest worry when I apply for the upcoming term is that my grades aren't good enough. I have a 3.3 at Valencia and in my prereqs I believe but my overall GPA I think is only a 2.98 from my bachelors degree five years ago. It sucks that a really rough year when I was a sophomore is haunting me still about 8 years later.

Sorry, I'm not sure how many people applied. From what the nursing advisor told me, twenty applicants are selected each semester.

Orientation is July 17th. Hopefully I would know more about this by then.

Hello, I'm also interested in Valencia's advance track. Can you give me a little bit more information on how the program is? Is it mostly online and fast paced? Do the teachers try to help you out or you're expected to know all of it? How many days are the clinicals? Is the material itself hard or they give you extra things because of the school's name?

thank you

It is all online except for lab check off the first semester and clinical. It's extremely fast paced, be prepared to spend a minimum of 60 hours a week reading, doing discussion boards and online assignments. Since you aren't going to class for lectures you are handed a weekly list of chapters to read and you just have to read and learn it all. Clinical is usually 1 day a week except for mental health days and then it is 2 days a week for that portion. The material itself isn't hard, it's just the amount of reading in the short amount of time that makes it challenging

Thank you for the quick response. Valencia is my number one choice, we'll see how it goes.

I just finished the final for the first term of the program. The second half is Maternal/Child and the first half is fundamentals. IT IS HARD. I am not going to lie. There is a ton of information and very little time to learn it in. The head of the program changed, and I think that is going to be great for the incoming class. I passed both classes, but we lost 6 people over the semester. They are not kidding when they say there is a lot of time required to study. And working is very difficult but there are people who passed and still worked. I wish you the best of luck.

I survived guys, it IS possible! I graduated on Wednesday from the AVS program! I'll be here if you guys need any help or a shoulder to cry on hah!

Congratulations! I am getting ready to start adult health, do you have the reading assignments? The professor forgot to post that , and I do not want to message her.
