Hi everyone, just wanted to get opinions on this matter...
I recently accepted a position at another hospital within the same organization, so basically I'll just be transferring...I will be staying at my current unit for one more month, then begin an 8-12 week orientation (depending on my needs). The job was offered to me a few days ago via phone call, and will be officially signing the offer letter in a few days.
That being said, my husband and I have been planning a honeymoon for the very end of September to early October, (about two weeks). I certainly plan on telling HR/recruiter tomorrow, but was wondering how everyone else felt on the chances that they won't take back my offer and allow me to take the time off. Of course, I will also tell them that I am willing to postpone the honeymoon.
Again, it is the same organization, and I have more than enough PTO hours (actually, will be hitting max PTO soon).
Thanks!

It's not unusual for people to have events planned prior to being offered a new position.
If if they know ASAP, it probably won't be an issue, especially if you're willing to postpone if necessary.
dont forget to mention your PTO is maxing out either.

Was the vacation approved in your existing unit? When we transfer our approved time goes with is, it just known up front. Never hurts to ask. And when we max out on vacation we have to take a mandatory payout or quit accumulating time.
