Hello, I was wondering if anyone has worked or is working for the San Diego VA? Do you have to be fingerprinted? I only ask because I was arrested never convicted and the case was dropped by the District Attorney. I didn’t even have to go to court. I have a license in Va and Ca even with this on my record. Any advice would be great!

Hello there. My .02 would be to disclose everything that you have on your record. You DO NOT want to be caught in the "hey we would like to offer you a job however you didnt disclose XYZ"....I applied to VA in West LA and was offered a spot in ICU but ended up at Cedars. Best of luck to you.
Better to disclose now then say no and it show up later..cheers

Thank you I haven’t been offered the job yet but I have interviewed and been referred. Just wanted to know if I should just try elsewhere and leave this job alone. But I have paperwork from the DA saying it was dropped.

Personally I would continue to look and see what sticks (again being transparent and letting your future employer know what happened in the past upfront). I was offered a job at the VA in West LA it took forever to get the offer. I ended up at Cedars and glad I did. Good luck.

I would be upfront and honest about it. Depending on circumstances it may or may not be a factor. Better to be upfront about it and chance it, than to go through the process (which can be very long) only to find out they deny you for not disclosing.

Yes, fingerprinting, as well as multiple proof of US citizenship, is required for employment at the VA.
