VA Portland PBNR

Hi Everyone, noticed there's not many threads about PBNR programs. I applied to Portland's VA PBNR and recently got an email ill be getting a call just to get to know me a bit better. Anyone working at the VA under the PBNR? Hows the program? How competitive is it? How long did the process take? Anyone applying to it RN too?

Hi I am at a different VA but just found out I was accepted into the PBNR program. My understanding of the program is you are with a preceptor for all 12 months and you rotate though the different departments to get experience and then at the end of the year you can choose to stay and get hired on as a nurse in a specific unit or you can leave.

CONGRATS! and yes, what I have read. How was the interviewing process for you? I have read it takes a couple of months

Thanks for me the interviewing process was pretty fast only about 3 weeks from first interview to offer. I had the first interview one week then the second with the head of education last week then today got the offer.

Hi! I think it is, should be part of the benefits. Have you gotten an interview?

For my VA in Texas as part of the PBNR program we receive a stipend and health and dental insurence.

For the VA Residency PBNR, anyone know how long it takes to get the firm offer? I submitted paper work 2 weeks ago. They gave us a start date but no official "firm offer". Anyone know how long it takes for HR to get back with you?

Hello,

I know this is an older post, but I was accepted to the PB-RNR program for the March 2024 cohort in San Diego. I was wondering if anyone could provide any input or advice on how the program went for them. I also have 2 other new grad offers in a nearby hospital and need to make a decision by tomorrow, (aka why I am panic searching the internet LOL) so I am trying to decide which is best for me. I would appreciate any input! Thanks SO much in advance!
