VA Palo Alto New Grad 2013 Fall Program

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this board, but also a new graduate RN who recently applied for this New Grad 2013 fall Program. Did anyone else apply?

did you get an offer? They're kinda slow with communicating, so I don't know how hard they're trying to get everyone ready on time lol..

Can anyone confirm they received an offer for employment? If so which department? There were a total of 11 positions available with some in the surrounding Palo Alto area? IF you were offered employment could you please tell us what departments for those of us that interviewed...Thank you!!! Congrats!!!

I did get an offer, but their process is slow, so they may still be giving people offers through this week. Does anyone know what the commitment for this new grad program is? Is it 3 years? or 2 years? And is it a legally binding commitment? Just wondering, because there weren't any specific instructions given yet. thanks!

I spoke with one of the nurse recruiters last week, and she told me that there is no legally binding commitment after the program.

Have you or anyone else accepted to the program received the official offer letter yet? I received a tentative offer letter pending background check/fingerprinting/etc. a couple of weeks ago but have not actually gotten the official one. I completed all the preemployment stuff, so hopefully it will come soon!!! Excited to start working!! :)

Same here with me. Turned in all my stuff just waiting to get an email saying where and when we are going to start. I know the the 7th is a few short weeks away. Im so excited and thankful for this opportunity to finally be a RN!!!!

I haven't heard anything either :/ But I know we will have to be there on Monday the 7th at 8am.

at the VA in Palo Alto, I think it will be a room where we do the new grad classes, not our units. I was told they'll email us with the details.

Up date all my references ave received the forms to fill out for E-Qip hopefully by next week the bg check will be done.

how did you check for the update? Has anyone heard anything yet? I still haven't heard a peep..
