VA Palo Alto New Grad 2013 Fall Program

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this board, but also a new graduate RN who recently applied for this New Grad 2013 fall Program. Did anyone else apply?

Yes, reference and offer calls were made. I believe my references were called on Thursday by the hiring manager, nurse recruiter called me on Friday, and HR called Tuesday. They moved very quickly once I finished interviewing!

That's my hooooood. Warm summers, occasionally wet winters, avoid congested traffic by planning ahead but it's not too bad. Cost of living is up there, close access to the city, diverse food adventures. Overall very safe area. There's lots to do, you're close enough to everywhere; SF, sj, Santa Cruz etc

thank you zzbxdo! If you're from that area, or anyone else on here. Do you know what the commute from Dublin is like to Palo Alto? And if it's doable. I'm really worried about the commute at this point.. THanks guys!

Called HR today, said that the job ID # I referenced had yet to be filled. For those of you who got job offers what is the start date and job ID # for which you were selected?

wasn't there just one job ID for the entire program?

Not sure which part of Dublin you will be driving from, but if you were to drive "now", it'd take about 45 min or so. I'm not sure how the traffic is on 680 in the morning though. Maybe you might want to consider doing a test commute to see how it is on work day commute time.

Oh--I was just thinking aloud--because the VA is trying to get everyone ready for the Oct 7th start date.
