Hello All, I am an RN for 24 years and an FNP for one year. Most of my nursing experience is in Nephrology and NP in primary/ urgent care. I just received a tentative offer for Primary Care NP at VA and I have to do the write-up for the grade. Can someone please help me with this? Thank you so much.

Dec 29, 2022 Congratulations on receiving a tentative offer for the VA. I have sent as an attachment the qualification standards for a Nurse III. The Nurse Professional Standards Board with determine the step based on your write-up. Make sure to address each of the dimensions with examples. For example, did you chair or participate on a committee that affected nursing practice? What was the result? Your certifications. EBP Conference presentations. Are you ACLS certified? Just giving you some idea of what they may be looking for. I hope it helps. Qualification Standards .docx

Remember those little things you did that did not matter and slap them on paper, include projects you have done for your prior jobs. Like during COVID did you do anything that was probably ethically challenging? Like getting family members to contact their loved ones? What was the ethical dilemma, think rules and HIPPA, how did you get involved, did you have to involve your boss...... and so forth

I just followed their criteria by adding the scenario and the outcome, how it helped the patient population and the other department in the hospital system and some also to the community. How I needed to involve other multidisciplinary team to work on the project etc. I hope I have done it correctly and hoping to hear back from them soon. It's been a very long wait. I will keep you posted.

OncRN2015, DNP, APRN, NP 38 Posts Feb 7 Interviewed in July and was told I didn't get the job. Received an email early October that I had been selected for a position if I was still interested and started 1/17. I think they expedited the process. I was told that I was the alternate and the first pick turned down the job offer. You know the VA is so backwards though since you don't get an official offer until all background checks and credentialing are completed.
