According to the VA BON, they are looking to change how foreign nurses are licensed. I would call the BON and ask when they are going to vote on the proposed document.

California requires a local license. Sometimes it is waived. But your best bet is to try and get licensed where you are living.

I really want to be licensed here but the problem is im lacking requirements that they need,,,hope you can call them,,,and give me feedbacks coz im so worried right now an d very confused...thank you so much....

janetcruz, when MedSurg32RN said "I would call the BON," she meant that if she were in your situation, she would call the BON. You need to be the one calling the BON. Good luck!

oh Im sorry for that...thanks...

The reason why you should call is that the BON is asking for public comment ( which has closed). Based on public comments, they are looking to change the way foreign nurses are evaluated. I am trying to save you time and aggravation especially if the rules change.

thank you.. i hope there is other way i can take the nclex without having the cgfns...

Looks like what the state is trying to do avoid the test but have the courses evaluated. You would not be able to sit for the November CGFNS, hopefully the law will change before the next test.

Call.....they will know best.

i hope so...call them tom...in taking up CGFNS, licensure from the philippines is required?thank u for ur time...

Most states are leaning towards a local license, which makes sense. Especially if you're looking for someone with experience.
