HI, everyone does anyone have any experience of working as ambulatory lvn in a VA clinic? Right now I have a job in office as a Director of staff development in long term care and the pay is okay and benefits are not that great, I have my RN school complete just awaiting to retake my exam. Does anyone have any insight on the VA clinic and what is there to offer and what would you do? I am lost in between all this right now.

I think you have a very good likelihood of at least getting an interview! Make sure to study Performance Based Interview (PBI) questions as these will be the bulk of the interview. The process is long, so definitely keep your current job.

Hi.. JENFKB,

I came across to apply for VA ambulatory care in grater LA, would love east La location. I would like to find out how is the ambulatory schedule, and responsibilities. And how is my chance to get in?
I have 7 months working experience in medical surgical in private community hsptl at East LA. And 8 months and still counting working at county medical center-GI lab (which I love the schedule and patient population). Currently, temporarily being floated to med surg floor for COVID-19 surge.

I will complete my BSN by next month and thinking to expanding my nursing career at VA. My understanding that VA nursing job is very competitive, I don’t know if I even qualify with less than 2 yrs experience.
any advice will be appreciated.

I got into the VA as a new nurse, so it is possible! I think you have a great chance to get it especially having your BSN vs ADN. Working for the VA is the best! Good luck!

Hi.. JENFKB,

thank you for responding. You gave me hope.

Happy New Year.

How did this turn out? I'm thinking of applying for a clinical position. Also, on the application where it asks about active duty, do I put my husband's info?
