Hello all,

I want to get my vascular access certification. I am looking at their website, vacert.org but not finding anything in the way of study materials. Just an outline of test content. Can any of you help point me in the direction of some good continuing education that will help me prepare for the VA-BC test? What did you use and what did you find most helpful?

Thanks so much in advance!!

Really want to join the vascular access team at a local hospital and this would absolutely help me be a stronger candidate. Ready to get studying!

Update: I just became a member at AVA. They have some free education on their website, but I guess I didn't realize that after paying the membership fee, CEUs would still cost $75 for ONE hour of CE. Outrageous. Anyway, I would much appreciate leads on AFFORDABLE continuing education to help me study for the VA-BC exam. Much appreciated!

For example, does anyone have a copy of the 2020 AVA Resourse Guide for Vascular Access? I am on a student budget here...

Thank you!!

I went ahead and bought the AVA Resource Guide and have been studying. Think this will be enough, or should I go for the online CEUs as well?

Thanks in advance for any response!!!!

...is this thing on??

Have you worked in the vascular access specialty before? If not, you’re not eligible to sit for the exam. See https://www.vacert.org/eligibility/

I have been FT on a VAT since November. Will take the exam this year, either June or December, and I plan to use the AVA resource guide that you mentioned. It’s supposed to cover the exam content. Good luck!

Does anyone have the Resource Guide for Vascular Access 2020 they would like to sell? Or any other study material for the VA-BC?
