So I am attempting to fill out my first application for the VA...I am confused by the question #17A on the Standard form for nurses 10-2850A. The question states "DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE OR HAVE YOU EVER HAD CLINICAL PRIVILEGES AT ANY HEALTH CARE INSTITUTION, AGENCY OR ORGANIZATION?" What do they mean by that? When I think of 'privileges' I think of Doctor's or maybe PA or NP privileges to practice at a facility. I am a nurse in a hospital. Does that mean I have 'privileges' to practice there? If the government speak for "are you employed?" or "have you ever been fired?" Thanks in advance.

Unless you are an NP/PA or MD, I doubt if you have ever had privileges. Providers like these are required to apply for privileges to see patients @ hospitals. Good luck with your application, the VA forms are extensive .Hope you get the job.
