Hey all, I'm applying the the University of West Georgia nursing program for Summer 2016 and the deadline is getting close. I was hoping to get a bunch of us together on a forum for some moral support while we play the waiting game!
I'm hoping to get in with a 3.3 GPA, a previous Bachelors, a 90.5% on the HESI, and living in Coweta/Applying to Newnan.
I've seen these forums for previous years ('13 and '14) so I'm hoping we can band together this year too.
I didn't make that bonus lol. I got out with a 3.3 (overall, not sure what my science is and I'm sure I could calculate it, but I'm sure I'd be disappointed). I think you're considered for both but only offered acceptance at one or the other?? . So I applied with Newnan as a preference but if Carrolton is my only option, well, I guess I'm rearranging my life and going to Carrolton. And as ready as I am to be an RN already, I know how fast I burn out so it would be harder on me to push through another rigorous full time schedule. I'm trying to get myself set up to move out of my parents house so I'll be doing everything I can to keep my job and go to school. I'd need the part time program for that.
This waiting for decisions is making it very hard for me to stay motivated in my current classes- it's like I really don't want to do anything until I know lol
It's definitely worth it on its own! I'm enjoying working as a CNA; it makes me feel like a baby nurse. I actually just got my renewal in the mail so I'm certified now through 04/2018. We have about a month left before emails come out (36 days until the paper letters are supposed to arrive, but who's counting?). I'm trying to figure out a contingency plan for the possibility that I get denied. I guess I'll be applying to other schools or continuing to take classes at UWG until the next application period rolls around. I really don't understand why the process takes so long!

It's a point system and bonuses are awarded but I have no idea how the scale works. They don't know how much the HESI is going to count yet because I guess they want to see what the range of scores for applicants is?? This is the first year they've asked for it. The CNA will be worth it regardless of your admission decision though. It's a great skill set to have. I'm working as a CNA right now and it's very rewarding. Which campus are you going for?
