UWG Summer 2016 Applicants?

Published

Hey all, I'm applying the the University of West Georgia nursing program for Summer 2016 and the deadline is getting close. I was hoping to get a bunch of us together on a forum for some moral support while we play the waiting game!

I'm hoping to get in with a 3.3 GPA, a previous Bachelors, a 90.5% on the HESI, and living in Coweta/Applying to Newnan.

I've seen these forums for previous years ('13 and '14) so I'm hoping we can band together this year too.

Hello,

I hope the lack of response corresponds to application submission. J/k, not kidding. I'm applying and I'm nervous about the HESI exam, I did well but since it's the first time I'm not sure what they are looking for. I also wonder exactly how long it will take to make a decision.

Not sure how long. It's only been three days since the deadline and I'm already checking my email religiously. I'm scheduling a phone meeting with my advisor for next week (so I don't have to drive to campus) and I'm going to see if I can get information. I'm rooting for us!!!

Me too :) I am a second degree student as well. Definitely want to keep moving forward.

Yes! I just got the applicant update email. Apparently we can expect decisions at any time now. Also I have to find like $3000 to make sure I can cover all of the initial costs. Though I do already have the electronics.

I have also applied for UWG 2016 and am hoping to get into the Newnan program. i made an 87 on the HESI and have a previous Bachelor's degree. I'm hoping they won't keep us waiting on a decision for too long!

Thanks for starting this thread!

Have you guys already become CNA certified? I am signed up for a class in March.

Not yet, plan on taking a class in March as well.

I've been a CNA since 2014(basically since I decided I wanted to go to nursing school), I work for a long term care facility to keep my certificate. Currently trying to get it renewed! Where are you doing your class? I hear Village Samaritan is great. I did my classes while I was in school in Decatur. I've been thinking about getting my phlebotomy certification at VS, but I'm not sure if I have time with work.

If for whatever reason they don't renew my license on time with my proof of employment I'll be taking the test again in April to get it renewed. Hopefully somewhere close by.

I'm doing my class at Med Prep South in Locust Grove. I live in Griffin so it's the closest program I could find.

Oh okay awesome! VS is in Newnan. I wasn't sure where you were coming from. I hope you like your class!

Do any of y'all know how things (HESI/GPA/Science GPA) are weighted in the admission decision? Is it like a point system? I'm curious about the admission bonuses. I start my CNA class on Saturday so I hope it's worth it!
