UWG Nursing Program summer 2017

Published

Hello everyone I am applying to the nursing program in Dec. for summer 2017 at University of West Georgia. I took my TEAS and got an 82 but that is not needed for UWG. I am taking the HESI exam next month. I am a CNA recently passed my exam in October. I am worried GPA wise because my Gpa is not great. Please share your story and I hope we can support each other until the end.

Hi! I too am applying for Summer 2017. Took the HESI today and made an 86 and my PGPA is 3.75. I hold a previous bachelors degree, currently work at Tanner and have completed 15+ hours at UWG.

Feeling good about good news coming my way. Fingers crossed we all get in together! Good luck everyone!

Has anyone received the first email from the School of Nursing (SON)? The email they send to all applicants, listing the estimated out of pocket pay such as, ATI, laptop, e-book etc.

The email tells you really that your application was received by SON. I haven't gotten mine and I wonder why. Please, have you gotten yours?

I haven't gotten it. When do they usually send it out? They JUST started reviewing applications (2/1), so it may be awhile

I think the email you were talking about was just sent out. I got an email with some info about if you're accepted

Yea, my just came in! I was worried í ½í¸“ because they normally send it between 3rd and 5th of February. I noticed a lot of changes though, class starts May 31st instead of 1st Monday in June. I also noticed that the E-book dropped in price by $200. I guess you can never tell with the SON!

The countdown has officially begun! I wish us all luck.

what did he make on the Hesi? Im applying as well, but i have a low GPA and HESI score

For clinical courses, such as NURS 3301, it says: Simulation Dates will vary as assigned: Thursday & Friday, Clinical Dates will vary as assigned: Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Does anyone know when these days are assigned and how they do it?

Are you assigned specific days for the whole semester or do they vary each week?

Is the entire class assigned days together or do they divide up and assign by name or something?

I don't know how they do it, but I know the dates are assigned 2nd semester for C'ton and 3rd semester for Newnan. You get to keep your dates for the whole semester. The entire class may be divided in 2 or 3 clinical/stimulation groups. Each group should have the same clinical/stimulation days.

I'll be in Newnan campus, so I am not worried about clinicals now cos I know I still have time to think about it. I'm worried about getting the ball rolling í ½í¹„

Does anyone by chance know when they start sending out admission decisions? I know they said we will here something no later than April 1st. So I'm assuming they'll be sending out decisions pretty soon!

Last year, my acceptance email came in on March 15th by 3:41pm. I don't know how soon this year's decision would be. I hope very soon!!

Also, are we supposed to go to the UWG orientation (May 25) AND the nursing program's orientation (May 17)??? I am about to register for UWG's orientation but I wanted to double check before paying the non refundable fee. I emailed the school about it but no one has replied back.

I really don't know, but since those are two different orientations, I'm thinking so. Well, you just have to call UWG and SON to find out. Sometimes emails are not enough.
