UVIC NP 2022

Published

Hi all! I am super early to the game but am looking to connect with anyone looking to apply to UVIC's FNP program, starting fall of 2022, as well as anyone currently enrolled. My background is in NICU, however I am looking forward to advancing my nursing practice as an NP. Let me know! ?

Hi everyone! I’ve also applied to the MSN - NP Program for September 2022 intake! Has anyone heard back yet?

UVIC emailed me as I was missing something on my application. They are currently going through all the applications, so we might hear from them soon.

Was that today?

No this was last week on Thursday. So I am guessing we might hear from them by the end of the week.

Hey guys! I emailed admissions to follow up. The responded “The NP admissions committee is in the process of evaluating the applications, and updates/decisions should be communicated in mid-to-late March.”

Oh wow, I wonder how many applicants there were this year if they haven’t done interviews yet! Probably lots.

Has anyone checked their application status? Mine has changed to recommended by department. Good sign I think??

Yes mine too! I’m a bit confused by this since I haven’t been invited for an interview.

I also haven’t had an interview. Saw this on last years forum though

I confirmed with UVIC Faculty of Graduate Studies that 'Recommended by Department' means the department wants to offer you a seat. Then this goes to the Faculty of Graduate studies to process remaining paperwork before sending out the official 'provisional acceptance letter'. This paperwork process takes about 1-2weeks from when yourdepartment has recommended you. In this letter, you will find information such as send over the final transcript or proof ofcertificate etc. So, 'Recommended by Department' can be seen as 'pre-provisional acceptance' :)

Thanks for finding this Global123. This would be great news, although I am hesitant to get my hopes up. It seems strange to offer seats without interviewing candidates. Let us know if you hear any further updates. I will be checking for new status updates daily now!

Same, I have a feeling it means we got an interview though?

Hey congrats ! I emailed uvic last week asking about interviews and they said they were not doing interviews this year.
