UVA Health System New Grad Summer 2016

Hi! I'm a nursing student expecting to graduate in May 2016 and I just applied to the UVA New Grad Summer 2016 Program. Prior to applying I noticed there had been previous threads for this program where applicants were able share their experiences, meet each other a little, and get excited for the future - So, even though its early in the timeline, I thought I would go ahead a start some discussion.

I've already spoken to some nurses who work at UVA and heard its a really good working and learning environment. If anyone who works there sees this, I would also love to hear more about your experience!

It's a great place to work. The folks there are ridiculously nice. Like, it creeped me out at first until I got used to it. I am from NY originally so I kinda thought they might be faking it. :) Good luck!

I too filed out an application for UVA Summer 2016, Have you heard anything back yet? The site said they would be calling people for interviews in January. I know there is still plenty of time left but I have not heard anything yet. The waiting is the hardest part.

Hi Grateful Murse!! I haven't heard anything either, but when a UVA recruiter visited my school last month they said they had to finish hiring the December New Grads before they were going to start looking at our applications. She said that they keep the applications open as long as they have a spot to fill. I just checked the website and the "Winter residency" app is still open. So I'm guessing as long as that app is open, we won't hear anything. If I do hear anything, I will definitely let you know!

Hey all! I applied Dec. 30th and my app still says "under consideration"... so that's good. But it does say they will call January 2016 for interviews. Any updates? :D

Hi, Kdeeds16. My application is still under consideration as well. I'm not too worried about not hearing back yet as they still have their winter application still up. I called them last week about adding an update to my application and they mentioned they were still very busy with the most recent winter graduates

Hi guys! I also applied to the UVA summer new grad program and have yet to hear back! Hopefully we all hear back soon! What units did you apply to? I am applying from out of state! Where all are you guys from?
